Brian Trench explores the development of science writing as a practice that narrates, interprets and critiques science.

The cases include one of the earliest science writers, Agnes Mary Clerke, Irish-born and internationally renowned in the early 20th century for her writings on astronomy and the late Mary Mulvihill, author of Ingenious Ireland and pioneer science broadcaster and writer.

Brian Trench is a former President of ISTJA and co-founder of the DCU Masters in Science and Health Communication.
