ISTJA Election of new officers


ISTJA’s election of new officers took place at the EGM on July 24th. The new appointees are as follows:

Maria Delaney – Vice President

Conor Purcell – Secretary

Anthony King remains as President. Brian Trench, Anna Nolan, Sabine Louët and Caitriona Boyle remain as executive committee members.

2019 AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Awards


 

DEADLINE: 01 AUGUST 2019

The Kavli Foundation are now accepting entries for the 2019 AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Awards. The contest is open to journalists from around the world.

Two awards are presented in each category: a Gold Award for $5,000 and a Silver Award of $3,500. The categories are large newspaper, small newspaper, magazine, video spot news or feature, video in-depth, audio (radio or podcast), online and children’s science news.

EGU Journalism Fellowships



DEADLINE: 06 DECEMBER 2018

The European Geosciences Union (EGU) is now accepting applications for its Science Journalism Fellowship competition. Successful applicants will receive up to €5000.

EUSJA has ten places for EUSJA science journalists to attend the Berlin Science Week and Falling Walls. It has reserved hotel rooms from 6-10 November, and will also provide meals etc. You will have to arrange and pay for your own travel to and from Berlin. Find out more

EUSJA Grant: Health Forum Gastein


DEADLINE: 20 AUGUST 2018

European Health Forum Gastein: 3-5 October 2018

There are eight places for EUSJA Members to attend the EHFG. Four nights accommodation, meals and transfer to and from Salzburg airport are offered free, but you will need to arrange and pay for your travel from Ireland to Salzburg.
