The Kavli Foundation are now accepting entries for the 2019 AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Awards. The contest is open to journalists from around the world.

Two awards are presented in each category: a Gold Award for $5,000 and a Silver Award of $3,500. The categories are large newspaper, small newspaper, magazine, video spot news or feature, video in-depth, audio (radio or podcast), online and children’s science news.

The entry deadline is 1 August 2019. You can submit your work via the online entry site at: Entries must have been published, broadcast or posted online between 16 July 2018 and 15 July 2019. Independent committees of journalists select the winning entries.

Applicants should read the “Contest Rules” and “Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)” websites before entering.

The awards will be presented at the AAAS Annual Meeting in February 2020 in Seattle, Washington. Travel and lodging expenses for one person are included for each award winner. For questions, please contact
