The Abel Prize is an annual international prize for outstanding scientific work in the field of mathematics. This year it takes place between May 18-20.

In addition to honoring outstanding mathematicians, the Abel Prize shall contribute towards raising the status of mathematics in society and stimulating the interest of children and young people in mathematics. More about the prize.

Journalists receiving a scholarship will have the opportunity to interview the Laureate(s) and have access to all the events, including the award ceremony, the banquet, and the Abel lectures. The grant covers travel expenses. The hotel in Oslo is being provided by the Abel Prize organisers.
